We'll have inspiring speakers and activities, with a focus on projects in Yeovil and South Somerset. It will be a chance to strengthen connections, with the theme of engaging - volunteers, service users, communities, as well as statutory & wider organisations.
Short talks:
Joe Knights: hear about Yeovil's network of growing and green spaces and the work of the South Somerset Environment Forum, which connects projects, shares expertise and organises work parties, which includes the skilled scythers from Able2Achieve.
Sue Wheeler, Yeovil Town Council: with news on the Yeovil Allotments 'refresh' and the emergence of a local Growing Hub.
Discussion:
James Ladamore, Spark Someset: Find out how Somerset's Vision for Volunteering is taking shape and about recent learning from organsiations and volunteers - the needs identified and Somerset-wide strategies to meet these needs.
Visit the Westfield Community Garden. Hear how the team are facing the reality and challenges of keeping this community project growing, including finding new ways of working. Just a minute's walk from the centre.
Practical activities:
- Chop & chat - help cook up our seasonal soup and pud - share tips and ideas, guided by Kim Robinson, an amazing community cook and one of our trustees.
- Save & swap seeds - learn tips on saving and storing seeds with Jane Sweetman from Wild Roots, bring seeds to sort and share.
- Grow micro-greens - decorate and plant up a windowsill garden from recycled materials - a great gardening idea for children, with Lara Honnor from Skool Beanz.

As always, we'll sit down for a seasonal soup and pud we'll have cooked up on the day using local and surplus food, plus share our news.
